The American Society of Primatologists takes any allegations of misconduct seriously. We intend to take a leadership role by outlining issues of appropriate and inappropriate professional behavior and developing a code of best practices that can be used to promote positive and ethical scientific collaboration and mentorship across our discipline.
Anyone who becomes aware of abusive or misconduct situations is ethically obligated to report it. They, and/or anyone who feels that they have been abused or not treated fairly by an academic/researcher at a university, in the field, or at a primate center or research facility should file a formal complaint with the appropriate person at that facility and/or with the funding agency.
