
ASP supports primate research, care, and conservation through four grant mechanisms, detailed below. Only ASP members may apply for most grants, except for the Emergency Response Small Grant, which is open to all. Grant mechanisms available to ASP members, including students, are the Small Research Grant, Conservation Small Grant, and the Melinda Novak Primate Welfare Grant. Instructions on how to become an ASP member can be found here. Applicants may only apply for one type of grant each cycle. In addition to these four grants, ASP also supports its members through student awards, travel awards, annual meeting presentation awards, and recognition awards.
This funding mechanism supports hypothesis-drive research on primate behavior, social organization, development, reproduction, physiology, anatomy and/or evolution. ‘

This funding mechanisms supports research projects designed to improve the lives of primates in any setting and which are highly impactful and innovative.

This funding mechansism supports those facing unexpected crises, such as natural disasters, political instability, or unforeseen threats to primate populations and nearby communities.
